As it went on, I started thinking "this is kinda long for a NG original tune". But the song remained solid throughout it's entirety, it didn't seem forced or contrived, and the giggles just kept coming. I especially loved the Twitter/Facebook comments from the other superheroes. Despite the length, I was absorbed and didn't necessarily want it to end.

This is adorable, funny, and DAMMIT what a clever and catchy tune. Thankfully, unlike Oxbow Lakes, I won't be able to remember the lyrics to this well enough to sing it for the next 9 days (or else I would).

WooleyWorld responds:

Glad you liked it, man. :]
I like the in depth review.

I just laughed so hard, the kimchi I had for New Years came out my nose.

I am beyond confused at how ugly some of these reviews are. Go vacuum the sand out of your cracks, this was stellar comedy.

bocodamondo responds:

to be honest, i dont know why this animation gets soo many insane hate. id really love to know why

Well, I can't say that I haven't been there before. Whether it be at a big-box electronics store or a little coffee shop, standing behind a cash register exposes you to the direct source of human frailty, over and over, several times a minute for many hours. It's like getting in a tanning booth, except you're being bombarded with short-wave stupidity instead of UV rays.

Haven't read through all the reviews, but has anyone mentioned that this might not be suitable for Everyone?

Dieseling responds:

I put in all the review stuff for the language and violence and it gave it an E rating lol

I'm so confused by some of these reviews. I thought it was hilarious, lauged out loud, thought the timing was dead-on and the delivery was perfect.

All glory to the Hypnotoad.

Sexual-Lobster responds:

cheers.

I'll be looking forward to the "short sharp little gag films" you will be releasing. I think that's exactly what this needs.

It was too long because of the empty space between the poignant parts of the episode. I don't just mean dead air, either. Parts of the dialog seemed directionless, and I found myself zoning out between gags.

It's being billed as a comedy, so it needs more emphasis on the comedy. The very beginning:

"Destination: Off-Course
ETA: Imminent"

I thought that was the funniest gag in the episode (and it really was funny). There are ghads and ghads of gut-bustingly hilarious animations on Newgrounds, all with varying degrees of production quality. The one thing they all have in common is the humor.

That having been said, this is some of the slickest animation I've seen on here in 9 years. Keep the laughs at the forefront of your future animations, and you'll have a staple on your hands.

Thanks for the comment! You can find the first of our New Eden Shorts "Mating Call" here:

Hey

Don't let anybody tell you that it sucked. Drawing full animations with this much accuracy (it's not perfect, but it's far from bad) is a lot harder than bobbing gifs around on the screen. If you want to considered one of the greats here, though, all you have to do is spend more time on it. Make everything tighter, more frames, more attention to character detail, establish a mode (which would be a lot better than what FUNimation did when they were doing DBZ for America....ugh, terrible painting)... and yeah, better Ki effects (all of this just goes back to spending more time on it) and you'll get straight 5's and 10's. When Cajun said your Ki effects "sucked", I think he was probably just refering to the Ka-Me-Ha-Me-Ha. You know what a real one looks like. I think you just copped out and wanted to be finished with it, so you didn't take the time. ^_^

Majin-Ryan responds:

Thanks for the review, its true i should of taken more time with it, some of the areas were a little sketchy and the ki effects are bad, hopefully the 3rd episode should look better:D

Hehehe

Well, that was cute. Definetly different from what I'm used to, and it's the first even watchable flash out of the last five submissions or so. It wasn't incredible, but you weren't trying to make it incredible. It was just a really cute short. Good job.

Gregg-Dix responds:

Wow, you captured what I was going for there. I'm glad you enjoyed it

Huh

So I wasn't sure why Link could fly, or why he, being a Kokiri, didn't have the trademark short stature or pointed ears. Also, the thunder became a little predictable and as a rule of thumb, you're not supposed to have two "two epic swordsmen run at eachother and clash in a blinding light, and the slice doesn't appear for 5 seconds" scene in the same fight. :) It just isn't as cool. But aside from all that, I was just really impressed at what I was seeing from the very beginning, and let's face it, Nobuo Uematsu is a perfect choice for any epic battle. So good job.

LeviFolds responds:

thanks - i wasnt sure why link could fly either, lol . i guess his courage let him take off or something - and about the specifics of the slicing and shiyte, this battle sort of led itself

C'mon

Come on, people. This is a 3/5.00 submission, at the very least. Let's raise the score.

NathanButchart responds:

Yeah, man! Raise the damn score! You all can do it! Follow Alkaizer's lead!

Look at the nearest electrical socket and imagine it as a tiny screaming face. Now, try to unimagine it as a tiny screaming face. You can't. Merry Christmas.
